An individual session

Individual Feldenkrais Sessions – also referred to as Functional Integration sessions can address a particular concern such as long term back, knee or shoulder pain, repetitive strain or recovery from injury.

Some people come with movement difficulties arising from neurological conditions like stroke or multiple sclerosis. Other people come to improve their performance in the arts or sports field.

Iraina begins by listening and looking at how you move in a number of situations such as walking or sitting and noticing where difficulties arise.  She uses her hands to guide you through some movements whilst lying on a low padded table, addressing particular habits and patterns of holding. The process is about releasing muscular tension, reducing stiffness, breathing more freely and finding a way to move easily. Often people experience new learning and a sense of well being.

Iraina will make suggestions as to how you can take this new way of moving into everyday life or to enhance your performance. Home visits are also possible where appropriate for some individuals.

The sessions last up to one hour. You will be fully clothed (wear comfortable clothing).

A one off session can benefit you, however 3 sessions are recommended intially. A series of 6 sessions at weekly intervals or further apart is more beneficial for long term concerns.

A session costs  £45
3 sessions cost  £120 (booked together)
6 sessions cost  £240 (booked together)

Feldenkrais Sessions for Children

The process is similar for children, however the session lasts for only 30 minutes and often takes place more frequently than with adults. Children with movement difficulties or special needs can benefit & learn readily.
